Prints Charming!!

Madeline Weinrib and Soledad Twombly decided to get together and show off their latest design designs.
It was the most rewarding event for me last week.
The hosts were so gracious, creative and stunning, conversation intelligent and stimulating, after a hectic fashion week it was the most welcome event for me.

Here are some snaps from the event, enjoy!

Madeline Weinrib and I surrounded by her beautiful pillows. Madeline is wearing the Soledad Twombly's delicious Velvet Jacket that is lined with Madeline's Fabric.

Here is the close-up of the inside of the Madeline Weinrib / Soledad Twombly Jacket.

Holding Madeline Weinrib's purple velvet bag ( made from vintage velvet, embroidered with twisted gold-thread....) amazing quality, they don't make stuff like this anymore these days.
Must -have!

Here is a selection of Madeline Weinrib's Clutch Bags,
the one I am holding in the picture above, is in the middle.

More bags, more colors, more happiness!
I just love her bags, they are becoming a new classic.
Every woman out there should have one, they just give that little bit of "something" to your outfit.
I know what I am talking about, I own one of her raspberry colored clutches and the bag just never fails to add some magic and I always get the most wonderful compliments when I carry it.

A silk-chiffon printed tunic.

A light evening coat.

Madeline Weinrib and Moises de la Renta,

Patti Smith Benefit Concert For The American Folk Art Museum

Patti Smith performed live to celebrate Henry Darger’s birthday in a benefit concert for the American Folk Art Museum. Henry Darger's Artwork is projected on the wall.
Patti Smith performed as part of a benefit concert for the American Folk Art Museum.
Patti started calm and serene, later it escalated to pure joy and exuberance!
Guests of all ages were enjoying themselves and getting off their chairs and dancing.

The setting
Henry Darger's Artwork, I will be visiting the exhibition in the next few days to review and post some pictures.
Henry Darger (1892-1973), an American artist from Chicago, created a fantasy world through his writings and scroll-like paintings and is considered one of the most notable artists of the twentieth century. The American Folk Art Museum is home to the largest public repository of works by Henry Darger and the nation’s premier institution dedicated to the work of contemporary self-taught artists as well as traditional folk artists. An accomplished and prolific writer and artist, Darger created a fantasy world through his manuscripts and illustrations and is today considered one of the notable masters of the twentieth century. The American Folk Art Museum is also celebrating Henry Darger’s birthday with the exhibition “The Private Collection of Henry Darger” on view through 19 September 2010.
The American Folk Art Museum, founded in 1961, is home to one of the world's preeminent collections of folk art dating from the 18th century to the present day, including soaring weather vanes, dazzling quilts, handsome portraits, and exuberantly painted furniture as well as mythic watercolors and idiosyncratic drawings, paintings, and sculptures by contemporary self-taught artists from the U.S and abroad. I took this video, terrible quality and shaky... still fun nevertheless!
