You should go! Pablo Picasso: Mosqueteros at Gagosian Gallery
Mindblowing Exhibition. We all have seen many Picasso Paintings and a little boredom might have set in, but this one is a great refresher. Amazingly curated.
'I enjoy myself to no end inventing these stories. I spend hour after hour while I draw, observing my creatures and thinking about the mad things they're up to.'
--Pablo Picasso, 1968

Kat Basics
Katerena Alkhimova, a model I have done many shows with in Europe and the USA, has started her new Fashion label 'Kat Basics'.
From her press release: ...She dares to reinvent the indispensable "little black dress,"
Kat's debut collection "Body" proposes two modern interpretations: the dress, and the bodysuit. These pieces were inspired by the sexy light/dark imagery of Helmut Newton's photography. Also, the collection exudes elements influenced by sensual "pin-up girl" imagery of the 1940's...
Figure hugging and seductive in the extreme.
This is Katerena.

'Brooklyn Gang' 1959 by Bruce Davidson
These images are so timeless and powerful, simple and complex at the same time. They capture being a teenager and the hot, sticky summer in New York perfectly.
In the spring of 1959, Davidson spent several months photographing a group of Brooklyn teenagers who called themselves "The Jokers". Davidson was introduced to the gang by a social worker and gradually became a part of their world as he hung out with them in the neighborhood, in Prospect Park and at Coney Island. This was Bruce Davidson's first photographic project, undertaken when he was barely older than the rough boys depicted in the work.

Carolina Irving Textiles

Carolina Irving, former Design Editor at House and Garden for more than ten years has finally launched her own textile design atelier. Made from 100% printed Hemp or Linen Fabric.
I especially love the organic, fashionable and classic, already slightly broken in look of the fabric, so when you upholster a chair or sofa, it won't look too precious.
She is also a very beautiful and stylish lady.

This picture is my Inspiration for today, I love what she is wearing. Really simple yet feminine. My brother always says: Me and my friends love when the ladies dress like that. I did a little survey and seems like almost every man I quizzed agreed.
Maybe women dress to impress other women subconsciously, not so much for the boys.
I will investigate further and report back here.

BRÜCKE: THE BIRTH OF EXPRESSIONISM IN DRESDEN AND BERLIN, 1905-1913
February 26-June 29, 2009
The 'Neue Gallerie' is the Museum for German and Austrian Art in New York, just across the street from the Metropolitan Museum. I went see this exhibition and I was impressed. Powerful, raw and emotional artwork, beautifully curated 100 paintings, sculptures, and works on paper, this will be the first major exhibition in the United States to focus on the pioneering artists of the Expressionist group known as the Brücke.

Wonderful small table
I am shopping around for a coffee table to replace my old one. I looked at the www.jaysonhomeandgarden.com website and found this little treasure. It isn't a coffee table but maybe I can find a place for it somewhere?
