"Coco on the Lido" Chanel Cruise Show 2010

This is an amazing Chanel Cruise Collection. Karl Lagerfeld and his team came up with a wonderful concept to present his latest designs. Have you ever watched the movie "Death in Venice" by Luchino Visconti, based on the novella Death in Venice, written by the German author Thomas Mann, and was first published in 1912 ? The silent-movie hair and makeup, the peacoat and black and white sailor stripes, the lace-up booties and fabrics such as silk, tulle and velvet capture the mood of the movie and Venice Society in the past century.
The location was the Excelsior Lido, white tents were set up on the beach and the pier lit up. The catwalk was a boardwalk and the front row a line of deck chairs. The show happened at sunset.
Such a great idea, I wish there would be more shows held on outside locations.
